Life
Joseph Simon Sertürner (also Sertünner) is the father of the discoverer of morphine , Friedrich Wilhelm Adam Sertürner . His family originally came from Lower Styria, Austria . From 1767 he worked as a surveyor in the service of the court chamber of the Prince Diocese of Paderborn. He supervised the "entire construction industry in the area of the Hochstift", but never achieved the position of "court and state master builder".
