The former municipality of Haslach has been one of the eight districts of Herrenberg today due to the municipal reform in Baden-Württemberg since 1971 .

geography

Haslach is located in the Korngäu , two kilometers from Herrenberg, near the A 81 Stuttgart - Singen motorway . The primary school is located in the middle of the village. The Jakobuskirche is directly adjacent to the village square.

history

Haslach was mentioned for the first time in a deed of donation to the Lorsch monastery in 775. In the 13th century, the Bebenhausen monastery also owned Haslach. In 1790, today's Protestant St. James' Church was built as a simple hall building with a west tower after the previous building was demolished. The late Gothic winged altar, created in 1493, is now known as the "Haslacher Altar" in the Württemberg State Museum in Stuttgart. The place remained predominantly agricultural until the recent past. In 1906, the quarry, which is still in operation today, was the first larger company to settle in the village. A few other companies in the construction industry later settled in the quarry area. Through the development of building areas, the number of inhabitants has almost doubled from 1970 to the present to around 1,800. Haslach came to Herrenberg on December 1, 1971.

Today, Haslach is predominantly a place of residence for commuters to the surrounding towns and communities.
