Life
In 2008 Josh Penn appeared as a producer of short films . In 2012 he was the producer of the documentary Tchoupitoulas . In the same year he was responsible for the fantasy drama Beasts of the Southern Wild with Michael Gottwald and Dan Janvey . This drama received a nomination for Best Picture at the 2013 Academy Awards . The film, which has already received an AFI Award for Best Picture of the Year, was also the directorial debut of Benh Zeitlin , who received two Academy Awards nominations.
In 2018 she was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
