Lalique Museum

The Lalique Museum is a glass museum in Wingen-sur-Moder in France, Alsace . It is dedicated to the glassmaker and jeweler René Lalique and his successors.

history

The museum opened in July 2011 and presents around 650 exhibits that come from its own collection or have been made available by the Lalique company. Some works of art are also on loan from Paris museums or private collectors.

The public museum is managed by the Association of the Lalique Museum or the Alsace Region, the General Council of the Bas-Rhin Department , the Pays de La Petite Pierre Association and the Municipality of Wingen-sur-Moder.

The modern building is the work of Jean-Michel Wilmotte , whose design was selected after an architectural competition in 2004 because of its good integration into the landscape in the following year.

The first major exhibition took place from July 13th to November 11th 2012 with the title Suzanne Lalique-Haviland , le décor réinventé .
