Josip Čop (born August 17, 1961 in Varaždin ) is a former Yugoslav football player .

Career

Čop started in the second division at NK Varteks Varaždin . After just one year, he moved to NK Zagreb in the first division in 1976 . Then he rose in 1979 with NK and the following year again, before relegating again in 1981. In 1983 he moved to Hajduk Split for one season . In Split he was able to win the 1984 Yugoslav Cup. In the same year he took part in the European Football Championship in France . But he was not used. He completed a total of two international matches for Yugoslavia.

In 1984 he went to Austria to SK Sturm Graz , where he played in the top Austrian league for two years .

Since 2005 he has been Secretary General of the Croatian Olympic Committee .
