The Journal for Nature Conservation is an English-language scientific journal for international nature conservation . The magazine was launched in 1992 as a magazine for ecology and nature conservation, initially in German and is now published by Elsevier .
The journal deals with techniques and methods of modern international nature conservation. It builds a bridge between science and practice and connects nature conservation theory, policies and management as well as the topic of biodiversity with socio-economic concepts.
“Research papers”, discussion papers and methodological contributions as well as brief information from international nature conservation are published. The professional background spans the fields of landscape ecology , renaturation ecology , theoretical ecology , ecological modeling , ecological economics , nature conservation biology , wildlife management , environmental planning , nature conservation policy and environmental education .
The journal had an Impact Factor of 1.535 in 2012, ranking 84th out of 136 journals in the Science Citation Index .
