The Journal of Common Market Studies ( JCMS ) is a quarterly academic journal of the University Association for Contemporary European Studies . JCMS publishes economic and political science studies on European integration and the common market . One of the 6 issues of the year is devoted to the evaluation of the economic development of the European Union .

The journal was founded in 1962 by Uwe Kitzinger .

editorial staff

The editorial team of the JCMS is currently (2015) jointly headed by Michelle Cini and Amy Verdun . Ruby Gropas and Gaby Umbach are responsible for editing book reviews , while Nat Copsey and Tim Haughton are responsible for editing the annual policy evaluation of the European Union . There are also 6 other editorial staff and a 23-member advisory board.

A study by the French economists Pierre-Phillippe Combes and Laurent Linnemer ranks the journal in the third best category A, ranking 63rd out of 600 economic journals.

According to its own information, the journal had an impact factor of 1,855 in 2014 .
