Point Dume refers to a 56 m above sea level. NHN high elevation of sand dunes and cliff sloping to the sea on the coast of Malibu . The area around the cliff and the beach in front of it is protected by the Point Dume State Beach Conservation Area . There are several climbing routes on the cliff.
Point Dume Beach is used as a backdrop for the film industry, including scenes from the Planet of the Apes .
