China Camp State Park is a California state park on the western shore of San Pablo Bay . The protected area, not far from the city of San Rafael , was established in 1976 and covers an area of around 613 hectares. The state park is named after China Camp Village , a former fishing village used by Chinese immigrants.

China Camp Village is located in the eastern part of the reserve and was founded in the 1860s. With the decline in demand for Chinese workers at the end of the California gold rush and the completion of the first transcontinental railroad, a number of Chinese migrants had settled on the edge of San Pablo Bay and switched to shrimp fishing. By 1880, China Camp Village was one of many Chinese villages on the edge of the bay and had nearly 500 residents.

A museum has now been set up in one of the former houses of China Camp Village , in which the history of the Chinese residents of the village can be studied. In 1979 the place was added to the National Register of Historic Places .

The state park can be reached from San Francisco via Highway 101 and is a popular destination for hikers, runners and mountain bikers, especially on weekends.
