Jovan Bandur

Jovan Bandur (born September 24, 1899 in Javnica , † May 15, 1956 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ) was a Yugoslav composer .

After studying at the Vienna Music Academy with Joseph Marx and at the Prague Conservatory with Jaroslav Křička, Bandur became the conductor of the Belgrade Opera in 1931. In 1937 he became director of the Belgrade Music Academy. The Pančevo Music Academy was named after him.

Bandur composed a symphony , a violin concerto, a string quartet, small violin and piano pieces, two cantatas , other choral works with orchestra and a cappella as well as songs .
