Komatsu Mining (until April 2017: Joy Global ) is an American manufacturer of mining equipment. According to its own information, the company is the largest manufacturer of hoisting machines for coal and salt in the world.

history

In 1884, Henry Harnischfeger and Alonzo Pawling founded P&H Mining . In 1919, Joy Mining Machinery was founded by Joseph Francis Joy. 1994 took over Harnischfeger Industries , the Joy Mining Machinery . In the 1997 Asian crisis , Harnischfeger Industries had to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The successor company was named Joy Global . In 2011, LeTourneau was acquired for $ 1.1 billion .

In 2016, Komatsu announced that it would acquire Joy Global. The acquisition was completed in April 2017. After the acquisition, the company was renamed Komatsu Mining Corp. renamed and taken off the stock exchange.
