Joyce Reynolds (actress)
Joyce Reynolds (born October 7, 1924 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American actress .
Life
Joyce Reynolds was discovered by a talent agent during a screening at the University of California at Los Angeles . This earned her a contract with Warner Brothers .
Reynolds was seen as an actress in a total of ten films by the film company from 1942 to 1950. Her first small film role was in Yankee Doodle Dandy alongside James Cagney in 1942 . In the following time their roles grew noticeably. In 1944 she played her first and only leading role as Janie Conway in the musical film Janie directed by Michael Curtiz . This film did not bring her the breakthrough she had hoped for, despite the consistently positive reviews. Her last major role was in the comedy Wallflower in 1948 . In 1950 she made her last film, Girls' School , before ending her career as an actress after only eight years.
Joyce Reynolds was married three times and had two children.
