The Juabeso District is a district of the Western North Region of the state of Ghana . It is located in the northern part of the region and borders in the west on the neighboring country Ivory Coast , in the east on the Ahafo region .

Economy and environment

The densely wooded district lies in the zone of the tropical rainforest and is home to four forest reserves, the most famous of which is the Bia National Park near Kumkumso.

75% of the workforce work in agriculture, producing cassava , plantains , corn , yams , rice and, above all, cocoa . Juabeso is the largest cocoa producer among the districts of Ghana. In addition, the timber industry (wawa or abachi tree , mahogany and odum tree ) and mining are important.
