Juan de Polanco SJ (* 1517 - † December 21, 1576 in Rome ) was 1547 secretary of the first superior general of the Society of Jesus , Ignatius of Loyola . Hundreds of letters go back to him, which he wrote on his behalf and with which the young order was directed. From 1547 he was instrumental in preparing the statutes of the order. In the same year he gave the impetus for Ignatius to leave behind a kind of autobiography, the so-called Pilgrim's Report , in which he shared his spiritual experiences with the confreres.
