Juan Andrés Naranjo Escobar

Juan Andrés Naranjo Escobar (born January 4, 1952 in Ciudad Real ) is a Spanish politician of the Partido Popular .

Naranjo Escobar studied humanities and Spanish philology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid . He later obtained the postgraduate diploma of the Institute of Education at the Universidad Complutense and graduated from a Catholic university with a master's degree in sociology and human resources. In 1983 he became deputy director of the Juan Valdés Institute. From 1982 to 1989 he was professor at the seminary in Madrid and during this time also visiting professor of Spanish at the University of Menéndez y Pelayo . In 1992 he worked for the city of Madrid as a specialist advisor for culture and as a consortium advisor for the then European Capital of Culture Madrid. From 1995 to 1996 he sat in the Parliament of the Autonomous Region of Madrid , and in the election committee of the Partido Popular. From 1996 he was director of the cabinet of the first deputy prime minister of the Spanish government, Francisco Álvarez Cascos . In 1999 he was elected to the European Parliament . He was initially denied re-election in 2004 , but moved to parliament in 2008. In 2009 he failed again in re-election, on January 13, 2012 he moved up again. In the European Parliament he was a member of the budget committee for many years.
