Juan Augusto Turenne

Juan Augusto Turenne Aurie was a Uruguayan politician .

Turenne, of French descent, was a Freemason and owned the El Siglo Ilustrado printing company . Their son, the doctor Augusto Turenne (1870–1948), was born on July 4, 1870 in Montevideo from his marriage with Úrsula Huguet Raissignier . Juan Augusto Turenne was a member of the Cámara de Representantes . He sat there initially as a deputy mandate holder for the Montevideo Department in the 14th legislative period from February 12, 1883 to February 14, 1885. He was then in the following five legislative periods from February 15, 1885 to December 2, 1897 each time elected representative in the Chamber of Deputies. First he exercised the mandate for the Salto Department , while he represented Rivera in the 16th to 18th LP . At last, however, he took his place in the chamber for Flores . In 1886 he also held the post of Second Chamber Vice-President. He was also a member of the House of Representatives Finance Committee as part of his parliamentary activities.
