Juan Davila

Juan Davila (born October 6, 1946 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Chilean - Australian painter and author who lives in Melbourne .

life and work

Davila was a student at the Colegio del Verbo Divino in Santiago. He studied law from 1965 to 1969 and art from 1970 to 1972 at the Universidad de Chile . Juan Davila emigrated to Australia in 1974 after the coup in Chile in 1973 .

Juan Davila often paints collage-like figures. Landscapes are also a predominant motif in his work.
