Juan José Abril

Juan José Abril Merino (born January 12, 1980 in Valladolid ) is a Spanish track and road cyclist.

Juan José Abril was the Spanish runner-up in scratch of the U23 class on the track in 2002 . The following year he won a stage in the Cinturón Ciclista a Mallorca on the road . In the 2004 season he won a stage at the Vuelta a Segovia and was able to win the overall standings. He was also successful in a section of the Vuelta a Avila. In 2005 he defended the overall victory at the Vuelta a Segovia. At the Vuelta a Zamora he won two stages and was also first in the overall standings. He was also successful with his team in the team time trial of the Vuelta Ciclista a León , where he was third overall. In 2006 and 2007 Abril drove for the Spanish Continental Team Viña Magna-Cropu .
