Juan José Lara Arias
Juan José Lara Arias (* in Alajuela , baptized April 17, 1790 in Heredia , † June 21, 1856 in Alajuela) was President of Costa Rica from March 4 to 17, 1835 .
Life
His parents were Manuela Arias Flores and Juan Agustin Lara.
The parliament had successively appointed Nicolás Ulloa Soto and Manuel Aguilar Chacón to the Jefe de Estado , but neither of them initially accepted the office.
During Lara's tenure, Parliament examined the legality of the election of Rafael Luis José de Gallegos y Alvarado . Finally, Parliament canceled the election of Gallegos, but not that of his deputy Manuel José Fernández Chacón .
He died of cholera in his hometown of Alajuela in 1856 .
