Juan Jose Barbera

Juan Jose Barbera (born April 4, 1954 in Valencia ) is a Spanish painter .

life and work

After finishing school he attended art and vocational school. He then studied art at the Polytechnic University of Valencia . He then expanded his knowledge at the international school of fresco painting in Sant Cugat del Vallès . The provincial administration of Valencia supported the first artistic steps by providing a grant for painting. In his first years as a painter, Juan Barbera was strongly oriented towards the Madrid School. Later he looked for his own style and experimented with new materials. His works show modern forms, are characterized by search and dissatisfaction. For his work he received many first prizes and awards. In addition to his artistic activity, Juan Barbera is a professor at the University of Valencia / Department of Painting in the Faculty of Fine Arts. He seeks ideas for the implementation of his works by exchanging ideas with other artists. Prominent guests were Neo Rauch and AR Penck , with whom he is friends.
