Juan López Gutiérrez (* 1830) was President of Honduras from October 6th to 18th, 1855 .

Life

Juan Lopez married Soledad Gutiérrez Lozano. Her son was Rafael López Gutiérrez .

In 1855 General José Rafael Carrera Turcios of Guatemala repeatedly attacked his troops in Honduras in order to overthrow General José de la Trinidad Francisco Cabañas Fiallos . On July 6, 1855, the Honduran troops were defeated at Los Llanos de Santa Rosa and the city of Gracias.

The general of the Honduran Army Juan López put on a coup on October 6, 1855 at Masaguara near the Valle de Jesús de Otoro .

President General Juan López appointed José Santiago Bueso Soto as his deputy, who was executive president from October 18, 1855.

Under José María Medina López was involved in the suppression of the Olancho uprising in 1865 .

Under Ponciano Leiva , López was minister of war in the government of Ciudad de Choluteca, established on November 23, 1873, against the government of Carlos Céleo Arias López, and as such was in command of the seven-day siege of Ciudad de Comayagua until the Three Kings in 1874.
