Juan Núñez (athlete)
Juan Núñez ( Juan Núñez Lima ; born November 19, 1959 ) is a former sprinter from the Dominican Republic .
In 1981 he won the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships over 200 m and won bronze over 100 m . At the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1982, he won bronze over 100 m and 200 m.
In 1983, a double victory over 100 m and 200 m at the Central American and Caribbean Championships was followed by a fifth place over 100 m at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki . At the Pan American Games in Caracas he ran over 100 m in second and over 200 m in fifth, but was disqualified after he was convicted of doping with the stimulant Fencamfamin .
In 1986 he won silver over 100 m and 200 m at the Central America and Caribbean Games. The following year he won the Central America and Caribbean Championships over 100 m and took silver over 200 m. A bronze medal over 100 m followed at the Pan American Games in Indianapolis .
At the Olympic Games in 1988 he reached the semifinals over 100 m.
