Juan Pablo Bonet
Juan Pablo Bonet (* 1579 , † 1633 in Spain ) was the administrative official of the Spanish government and wrote in 1620, the first known plant for the deaf - pedagogy .
Life
In Bonet's work Reducción de las letras y arte para enseñar a ablar los mudos the so-called finger alphabet ("Finger ABC") for communication for the hearing impaired is described for the first time.
Bonet lived as a secretary in the household of the Spanish nobleman Juan Fernández de Velasco y Tovar, who had three deaf sons.
There is evidence that Bonet himself had little direct experience with pigeons and in fact plagiarized the methods of Manuel Ramírez de Carrión , who taught the third son of the family, Luis. Manuel Ramírez de Carrión, for his part, continued the work of Pedro Ponce de León , who had taught the first two sons.
With the publication of his work, Bonet apparently counted on recognition with the mere publication.
