Juan Pablo Rebella (born December 3, 1974 in Montevideo , Uruguay ; † July 5, 2006 there ) was a Uruguayan screenwriter and director.

Life

Together with Pablo Stoll , he made his first feature film, 25 Watt , in 2001 , which received awards at film festivals in Rotterdam , Havana and Buenos Aires . The duo's second film, Whiskey , won awards at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival , Tokyo International Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival .

On July 5, 2006, Rebella committed suicide in his Montevideo apartment.
