Judith A. Curry (* 1953 ) is Professor of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology . She is the author and editor of several books and over 130 specialist articles. Your Ph.D. received her degree in geophysics from the University of Chicago in 1982 .

research

In recent years, Curry has been researching global warming in particular . On the one hand, the effects of climate change on atmospheric conditions are central to them . She is interested in climate changes in the Arctic , which has been her main focus for many years. To this end, she regularly conducted field studies and also evaluated the accuracy of climate models , especially those with a regional focus.

Curry notes that the global warming controversy is becoming increasingly tribal warfare . She advocates disclosure of raw data and a broader, unbiased review of the associated studies, including skeptical voices. Most recently she participated in the BEST study at the University of Berkeley, which not least pursues precisely these goals.

Her essay On the Credibility of Climate Change, Towards Rebuilding Trust became known on the climate-skeptical blog Watts Up With That . She also tried to separate the political and scientific consideration of the connection between the greenhouse effect and the frequency of cyclones.

In 2017 she ended her career in research.
