Judith Karl is a US UN civil servant and has headed the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) since 2014 .

Judith Karl studied from 1978 to 1982 at Columbia University in New York , where she graduated with a BA . After working as a management consultant in the private banking and real estate sectors, she completed an MA at New York University from 1989 to 1991 .

Career

Judith Karl joined the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in 1992, where she initially oversaw projects in Mali and Cambodia for local development finance, decentralization, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, and mine clearance . In 2001 she became an assistant director in the UNDP's Washington Liaison Office. From 2002 to 2008 Karl was head of strategy and policy in the area of ​​crisis prevention and management at UNDP, after which she became head of the operational area of ​​the UNDP group.

Judith Karl has been Executive Secretary of the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) since August 2014 .
