Judith Szűcs

Judith Szűcs (born August 15, 1953 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian pop singer who became known in German-speaking countries through the television program Ein Kessel Buntes . In 1978 an album was released that went gold and platinum.

Life

Judith Szűcs trained as a hairdresser and took singing lessons. She sang in the choir "Spring '67". In 1972 she took first place in “Who knows what”. In Hungary she was called the disco queen. In 1980 she signed a record deal with EMI Electrola and in 1999 she founded her own music publishing company. Her songs were known in Austria, the GDR, the Soviet Union, Ireland, Japan, Cuba and the USA.

Her brother is the Hungarian guitarist Antal Gábor Szűcs .

  • 1979: Cavan International Song Contest - Professor Armand Moren Award for Best Vocal Performance
  • 1979: at the Tokyo Yamaha Music Festival she receives the title "The Beautiful Lady"
  • 1979: Hungaroton publisher's award - “Pepita Oroszlán” for the best-selling album abroad
  • 1980: Nivo Prize for a television program Űrdiszkó (literally: space disco)
  • 1983: 1st Prize and Grand Prix at the Neewollah Festival (Kansas, USA)
