Judson Brown

Judson Brown (born around 1901 in Monroe , Georgia ; † February 7, 1933 in Chicago , Illinois ) was an American blues and barrel house musician (piano, vocals).

Brown worked as a session musician in Memphis and Chicago around 1930 , a. a. for Madelyn James ("Stinging Snake Blues", Brunswick), Mary Johnson ("Death Cell Blues" and "Friendless Gal Blues"), with guitarist Tampa Red and with Mozelle Alderson ("Tight Whoopee"). Brown played under his own name on May 13, 1930 only a solo version of the blues number "You Don't Know My Mind Blues" for Brunswick Records , re-released on the compilation Piano Blues: The Thirties (1930-1939) ( Document Records ).
