Youth Red Cross Badge (GDR)

The youth red cross badge was an award of the German Red Cross in the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in three stages, bronze , silver and gold . The award was made to schoolchildren after they had acquired the basic knowledge of the Red Cross work. The badge has the shape of a pointed shield, is 23 mm high and enamelled in several colors. In the center it shows the Red Geneva Cross and the inscription below: YOUNG SANITARY . Until 1976 this saying was: I CAN HELP .
