The Tricolor Serbian Hound - Serbian : српски тробојни гонич / srpski trobojni gonič or тробојац / trobojac - (formerly Yugoslavian Tricolor Hound ) is a breed of dogs from Serbia recognized by the FCI ( No. 6, Gr. 1.2 ).

Origin and history

The tri-colored Serbian hound has the same origin as the other hounds of the Balkans . In 1946 it was discussed whether the tri-colored Serbian hound was just a variety of the Serbian hound or its own breed. The Tricolor Serbian Hound was finally recognized as a breed by the FCI on July 25, 1961.

The Tricolor Serbian Hound is of medium size (up to 55 cm) and of strong build.

He has short, luscious, and shiny hair. The basic color of the hair is a deep red. The black forms a coat or saddle and extends to the head. There are also two black badges on the temples. The white forms a full or partial collar and blaze.

The ears of the Tricolor Serbian Hound are set high, of medium length and lie close to the cheeks.
