Jules Noriac
Claude Antoine Jules Cairon called Jules Noriac (born April 24, 1827 in Limoges , † October 1, 1882 in Paris ) was a French writer and librettist.
Noriac began his writing career as a columnist for the newspaper Le Figaro and later published various newspapers himself. He became known in 1860 with the humoresques Le cent-unième régiment and La bêtise humaine .
From 1862 to 1870 Noriac directed the Théâtre des Variétés and the Théâtre des Bouffes-Parisiens . During this time he wrote the posse La boîte au lait with Eugène Grangé , which was later set to music by Jacques Offenbach . He was also the author of the operetta libretti Le timbale d'argent (set to music by Léon Vasseur ) and Pierrette et Jacquot (set to music by Offenbach).
