Julianus Alemannus († 1486)
Julianus Alemannus (* around 1410 ; † 1486 at L'Aquila ) was a Catholic priest and member of the Franciscan order . He is venerated as a saint .
According to Stadler's Complete Lexicon of Saints , Julianus came from Germany (hence the addition to the name "Alemannus" , Latin for "the German" ) and lived in the monastery of Saint Bernard of Siena near L'Aquila in Abruzzo . There he is said to have worked diligently and beneficially as a confessor , performed several miracles and for 40 years lived only on water, bread and vegetables. Julianus died at the age of 76 in 1486. His feast day was September 30th, Julianus Alemannus is no longer listed in the current calendar of saints .
