Julianus Alemannus († 1486)

Julianus Alemannus (* around 1410 ; † 1486 at L'Aquila ) was a Catholic priest and member of the Franciscan order . He is venerated as a saint .

According to Stadler's Complete Lexicon of Saints , Julianus came from Germany (hence the addition to the name "Alemannus" , Latin for "the German" ) and lived in the monastery of Saint Bernard of Siena near L'Aquila in Abruzzo . There he is said to have worked diligently and beneficially as a confessor , performed several miracles and for 40 years lived only on water, bread and vegetables. Julianus died at the age of 76 in 1486. ​​His feast day was September 30th, Julianus Alemannus is no longer listed in the current calendar of saints .
