Julian of Sora

Julianus von Sora († around 140 ) was an early Christian martyr who is venerated as a saint .

According to the martyrs' records, Julianus came from Dalmatia. On a trip to Anagni he revealed himself to be a Christian to servants of Flavianus, the prefect of Campania. Thereupon Julianus was taken prisoner. He was starved and thirsty in the dungeon for a week, and then tortured on the rack without apostasy. Eventually he was beheaded. Many people have been converted through his steadfastness.

Julian is venerated as the city patron in Sora and Atina . The saint's feast day is January 27th .
