Julien Belgy (born May 6, 1983 in Niort ) is a former French cyclist .

Athletic career

Belgy became French junior cyclocross champion in 2001 . In the U23 class, he won two silver medals and one bronze medal at the national championships. In 2009 he was third in the elite championship.

Belgy drove for several years on the road for Vendée U , the farm team of the UCI ProTeams Bouygues Télécom . At the end of 2005 he drove for the ProTeam as a stagiaire and won a stage in the Tour de la Guadeloupe during this time . After another stagiaire in 2006, he received a regular contract with the ProTeam from 2007 to 2010. He contested the Giro d'Italia 2009 and finished some of his Grand Tour participation in 151st place overall. In 2010 he won - again Vendée U , the stage race Tour de Gironde .
