Julien Buge (born February 18, 1913 in Paris , † May 18, 1940 in Inor ) was a French football player .

Career

The striker Buge already revealed his great talent in adolescence and in 1931 was named the winner of the national youth football competition Concours du jeune footballeur . In 1932, when Division 1 was a France-wide professional league , he was accepted into the squad of the Excelsior AC Roubaix , which was allowed to compete in this division. He made his debut in paid football a little later and was part of a team that made it into the national cup final in 1933 . In the match, in which you met city rivals RC Roubaix , the player was part of the first team and scored in the 23rd minute to make it 2-0. Since the game ended 3-1, he was able to celebrate winning the trophy. He then continued to play first class until he went to the second division AC Amiens in 1935 .

Buge wore the Amiens jersey for two years before returning to the Excelsior AC in 1937. In 1939 the beginning of the Second World War forced him to interrupt his career. He fought for an infantry regiment and died in May 1940 at the age of 27 on the front in Lorraine . His son Julien Buge , born in 1935, was later also a professional footballer.
