Julius Deppe
Wilhelm Julius Deppe (born May 5, 1852 in Oldenburg , † June 4, 1911 in Deutsch-Wilmersdorf ) was a German theater actor and director .
Life
Deppe, son of the court musician August Heinrich Christian Deppe, had been on the stage since the mid-1870s and soon tried his hand at being a director. In 1880 he worked in Rostock, from 1881 to 1889 at the Hoftheater Altenburg , 1890 in Metz, 1891 at the Princely Court Theater Gera , then for eight years at the Stadttheater in Strasbourg and in 1900 joined the Lessing Theater Association in Berlin , where he was called "Giesecke" in Weißen Spoon debuted. Deppe took over from Robert Guthery Juniors and played characteristic roles with much effect. His broad, comfortable comedy was praised, which was particularly suitable for charged roles.
He was married to Sophia Katharina Overlack.
