Julius Grabner

Julius Grabner (born September 8, 1903 in Pinkafeld ; † December 18, 1984 ibid) was an Austrian leather goods dealer in Pinkafeld and a politician ( ÖVP ). Grabner was married and a member of the Burgenland Landtag and 3rd President of the Landtag.

Grabner was born as the son of housewife Ida Grabner from Pinkafeld and attended the elementary and community school in Pinkafeld. He then moved to the Steinamanger Commercial Academy , which he graduated from in 1922 with the Matura. He then worked as a tanner and was managing director of the Adolf Grabner leather factory from 1925 to 1948. During the Second World War Grabner was classified as indispensable. Grabner started his own business in 1948 with a leather shop in Pinkafeld and Oberwart.

After the war, Grabner became politically active in the ÖVP-Wirtschaftsbund and was a member of the Burgenland Chamber of Commerce, where he also held the position of deputy chairman in the trade section from 1950 to 1969. In terms of local politics, Grabner was active as a councilor in Pinkafeld from 1950 to 1962; at the state level, he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag from November 4, 1949 to March 19, 1953. During this period he was also the 3rd President of the State Parliament.
