Julius Kaliski

Julius Kaliski (born June 20, 1877 ; † 1956 ) was a social democrat, writer and politician of Jewish descent.

Julius Kaliski was a member of the SPD since 1893.

1903 Julius Kaliski was in the process of the so-called. The Emperor island as responsible editor of the Forward for lese majeste and disorderly conduct sentenced to four months in prison. His lawyers were Karl Liebknecht and Max Levy (Berlin) and Hugo Haase (Königsberg i. Pr.).

In 1916 Kaliski was the economic policy editor of the central organ of the trade unions.

Julius was a member of the Greater Berlin Workers and Soldiers Council in 1918/1919 . He was a collaborator and editor of the Socialist monthly magazine . Between 1914 and 1933 he published 61 major articles in this journal.

In 1931 he spoke out strongly in favor of voluntary labor service . For a long time it was in contrast to Vorwärts , which only decided on May 19, 1932 to adopt a positive view.
