Julius Veselka

Julius Veselka (born February 8, 1943 in Siesikai , Ukmergė district ; † November 26, 2012 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian politician and economist.

Life

From 1951 he attended the Belazariškiai elementary school . After graduating from secondary school in Siesikai in 1962 , he studied at the Faculty of Industrial Economics at Vilnius University from 1967 to 1972 . In 1985 he received his doctorate in economics.

From 1962 to 1965 he served in the Soviet Army. From 1972 to 1974 he taught at the Chair of Political Economy at the Vilniaus valstybinis universitetas. From 1992 to 1994 he was the Minister of Economy of Lithuania in the 5th and 6th governments. From 1992 to 1996 and from 2000 to 2012 he was a member of the Seimas , selected in the Ukmergė constituency (No. 61).

He was a member of Tvarka ir teisingumas .
