Young journalists in Switzerland

The organization Young Journalists Switzerland (JJS), as the Swiss youth media association , represents the interests of youth media and young “ media workers ” in Switzerland .

The association, based in Zurich, offers and arranges training and further education to promote media skills among adolescents and young adults. It networks the Swiss youth media scene nationally and internationally . It also offers advice on editorial and publishing problems for young media professionals.

In 1998 the Swiss Association of Youth Press (ASPJ) was founded in Friborg . The founder was Daniel M. Bühlmann from Freiburg, who was President until 2004. In 2005 Andreas Renggli took over the office. On January 1, 2006, the ASPJ changed its name to Junge Medien Schweiz (JMS). Anita Kupper was president from 2008 to 2012, and Felix Unholz took over the presidency in 2013. He was followed by Elia Blülle (2014 to 2016) and Matthias Strasser (2016 to 2018). Manuela Paganini has been president of the association since the beginning of 2018. In 2019, the association changed its name from Young Journalists Switzerland to Young Journalists Switzerland.
