The Junior Chamber International Switzerland (JCIS) or Junge Wirtschaftskammer Schweiz is a non-profit organization for young managers between the ages of 18 and 40. Its goals are the understanding between people and peoples, to promote the development of personal skills of its members, especially leadership skills, and to contribute to problem solving in the community. It is an independent member of the international organization of Junior Chamber International (JCI) and is based on the goals of the UN (United Nations, UNO, United Nations).

The association is the umbrella organization of around 70 affiliated local organizations that call themselves chambers or Local Organization of Members (LOM). The organizations have around 3,000 members. At the head of the organization is the National President. He presides over the National Committee, which consists of

  • the National President
  • the Deputy President,
  • the past president,
  • the Secretary General,
  • the legal counsel and
  • the Senate President

consists. In addition, various Executive Vice Presidents have regional or content-related responsibilities. As a rule, all functions are filled annually (one year to lead).

history

The first local Swiss organization was founded in Geneva in 1955. In 1959 a second organization was founded in Lausanne. Both organizations founded the Swiss Young Economic Chamber as an umbrella organization for activities across Switzerland; it appears today under the name Junior Chamber International Switzerland .

activities

JCIS and its local organizations organize very different events on a wide range of topics. This includes training courses, panel discussions and sporting events. In addition, they run and promote social and other projects that are intended to benefit local communities and their citizens. So z. B. for the benefit of the MS Swiss Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Foundation Magic Lamp.

A nationwide national congress (NAKO) for the members takes place every year.
