Selvia Miller, Jr. (* 26. November 1957 in Midland , Texas ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of tight ends . He played four seasons for the Atlanta Falcons and one season for the New Orleans Saints in the National Football League (NFL) between 1980 and 1984 .

Early years

Miller went to high school in his native Midland. He later went to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln .

NFL

Atlanta Falcons

Miller was selected in the 1980 NFL draft in the first round as the seventh player by the Atlanta Falcons . In his first season he became a regular player and played all 16 games. He caught 46 passes for 584 yards and 9 touchdowns . That was enough to be elected to the Pro Bowl . It was to be the best season of his career. In total, he caught 114 passes for 1,328 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Falcons in four seasons. In 1982 he was nominated again for the Pro Bowl.

New Orleans Saints

For the 1984 season he moved to the New Orleans Saints . Here he caught eight passes for 81 yards and one touchdown in one season. After the season he was fired from the Saints. Miller drank a lot of beer at the time and suffered tremendous weight gain as a result. After he couldn't find a new club in 1985, he ended his career.
