The Juozapinės kalnas (German Josephinenberg ) has long been considered the highest point in Lithuania . A new measurement in 2004 determined the height to be 293.6 m while the nearby Aukštasis kalnas has a height of 293.84 m. The hill is part of the Belarusian ridge and is only about four kilometers from the border with Belarus , near the village of Medininkai .
