Juozas Bulavas

Juozas Bulavas (born January 12, 1909 in Ginotai near Juodupė , Rokiškis district ; † July 20, 1995 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian legal historian and Soviet-Lithuanian politician .

Life

In 1927 he graduated from Rokiškis high school . From 1927 to 1931 he studied at the Faculty of Law at the Vytauto Didžiojo universitetas in Kaunas . In 1932 he graduated from the economics department . From 1932 to 1934 he continued his education in Berlin . In 1940 he worked at the Ministry of Justice of Lithuania . From 1940 to 1941 he was prorector, rector and then professor of the Vilniaus universitetas . From 1946 to 1952 he was director of Teisės institutas . From 1950 to 1954 he was a deputy in the Vilnius City Council and from 1992 to 1995 a member of the Seimas . In 1992 he was the retirement chairman at the first Seimas meeting.

From 1991 he was a member of the Lietuvos Demokratieinė darbo partija .

His brother was Jonas Bulavas (1903-1984), son Vladas Bulavas (1936-2004).
