Piedbœuf brewery in Jupille

Jupille ( officially Jupille-sur-Meuse since 1963 ) on the Maas was an independent Belgian municipality until 1977 . As part of the municipal merger of 1977 , it became part of the city of Liège . In 2017 Jupille had 10,884 inhabitants.

Jupille is the place of death of Pippin the Middle and the location of the Piedbœuf brewery (which belongs to the AB-InBev group), and whose main product the Jupiler beer brand is named after the place. Originally, the founding father Jacques-Pascal Piedbœuf (1782–1839) started an industrial boiler forge.
