Jupp Fileborn

Jupp Fileborn (* around 1917; † September 1963) was a German table tennis player .

Fileborn began playing table tennis in 1932 at the Grün-Weiß Düsseldorf association. When Grün-Weiß integrated into Borussia Düsseldorf after the Second World War , Fileborn was there. He was an attacking player and was considered a fair sportsman even when he lost.

In 1934 he lost the final against Dieter Mauritz at the West German Championships after a 2-0 lead in the fifth set with 20:22. At the International German Championships in Hamburg in 1935 he reached the double-finals with Heinz Benthien , which was lost against the CSSR players Bohumil Váňa / Stanislav Kolář in the decisive set with 22:24.

Fileborn completed an international match. He ended his active career around 1953.

Fileborn died in September 1963 of an embolism as a result of a car accident.
