Heinz Benthien

Heinz Benthien (born August 19, 1917 in Hamburg ; † February 6, 1981 there ) was a successful German table tennis player . In 1944 he became German individual champion.

Heinz Benthien was the younger brother of Paul Benthien (who also became German champion in 1933). Between 1933 and 1937, Heinz appeared 11 times for the German national team and took part in two world championships. He played for Hamburger SV all his life .
