Yuri Grigoryevich Gololobov

Juri Grigorjewitsch Gololobow , Russian Юрий Григорьевич Гололобов , English transcription Gololobov, (born September 2, 1930 in Moscow ) is a Russian chemist ( organic chemistry ).

Gololobow studied at the Mendeleev Chemical and Technological Institute in Moscow, graduating in 1953. He was then head of department at the Institute for Organic Chemistry and Technology in Moscow, where he received his doctorate in 1958 (candidate). In 1966 he completed his habilitation (Russian doctorate). From 1970 he was a professor in Kiev and head of the department for organic element compounds at the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences , of which he became deputy head in 1972. From 1980 he was back in Moscow as deputy head of the Institute for Element Organic Compounds. He was also head of a laboratory for elemental organic functional polymers.

He is concerned with organic element compounds, especially organophosphorus compounds . The spectrum of his investigations ranges from synthesis, questions of electronic structure, reaction mechanisms to applications (pesticides, pharmaceuticals, thermally stable polymers). Gololobov holds over 100 patents. He is a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine . In 1983 he received the Mendeleev Society Prize.

He has been married since 1954 and has one son.
