Jury Humjanjuk ( Belarusian Юры Гумянюк , Russian Юрий Гуменюк / Juri Gumenjuk; born September 24, 1969 in Grodno ; † January 19, 2013 ibid) was a Belarusian poet and journalist .

Life

Humjanjuk was a Belarusian poet who belonged in the 1990s to the group of Bahdanaucy, which formed in Hrodna in the vicinity of the museum for the poet Maksim Bahdanowitsch . He wrote poems in the style of literary modernism of the interwar period, which his contemporaries at the beginning of the 21st century perceived as mannerist. In order to make a living, Humjanjuk also worked as a journalist critical of the government. a. for the Belarusian editorial office of the Polish radio station abroad and under a pseudonym for the Belarusian editorial office of the Polish radio station ( Polskie Radio ). He died in January 2013 under circumstances that have not yet been clarified. Humjanjuk died “when he fell from the 9th floor of a residential building in the city of Grodno”. While his mother and some work colleagues see no motive for suicide, others close to him assume that he was very isolated in his environment and that he may have committed suicide.
